Spring Light Green Sailing April 9th to May 16th Fridays and/or Sundays Optis only, experience required The 2010 Spring Sailing Program at SFYC will be offered in optis only with an emphasis on learning to race.  The Opti Green Fleet Racing Team is the next step after Light Green Sailing in the fall and spring.  Light Green Sailing at SFYC is intended for those sailors who have some sailing experience from a summer session and want to continue their sailing and learn to race.       Meets Fridays, 3:30 – dark (about 6:00) and/or Sundays, Noon – 4:00 Download application HERE CLASS DESCRIPTION Optimist                                          Ages 8-14    Boat: Optimist The 8-foot Optimist is the international standard in youth sail training. The “Opti” is specifically designed for junior sailors under 120lbs in weight.  2010 Spring Sailing will be open to all opti sailors who are non-beginners (must have had some previous small boat sailing experience).   Class will be broken up into two groups based on experience. April 17, 18 we are hosting an opti regatta and Spring Sailing participants will be incorporated into the Green Fleet (beginner racing) with their instructors on Sunday April 18th.  Spring Sailing participants are strongly encouraged to sailing in the summer program and attend the BAYS regattas.  Please see the opti calendar linked from www.sfyc.org/youth
